Angela Solomon co-founded Jaleesa in 2016, in Beirut. Jaleesa connects busy, working parents with experienced, reliable child care providers whom we have recruited, trained, and vetted. They have developed a four-step verification process for Jaleesa child carers, including an identity and criminal record check, references, assessment from a psychologist and training in First Aid, child development, and hygiene best practices.
What motivated her to start her company is the will to help women work. She wanted to empower women and wanted them to have time to develop their ideas and professional career and for that, they need a little help too. She explains: “I think that getting women working is the great challenge for MENA this century. If more women work, they spend more on their children’s education – and women who work are also more likely to take an active role in society. That’s really important for all of us, male or female”.
Angela Solomon is also the Director of Angela M. Solomon Communications. It’s a group of communications and research professionals who help international organizations and startups to build impactful, professional communications that support their growth.
