On Womenpreneur’s Mission:

Womenpreneur-Initiative is a Brussels-based NGO that strives for gender equality. Our work empowers women and girls and increases women’s economic participation within Belgium and the MENA (Middle East and Northern Africa) region. Our activities highlight women’s experiences and advance female talent in entrepreneurship, technology, innovation and society. To achieve our goals, we organise various projects including but not limited to: entrepreneurial activities, networking events, webinars, mentorship sessions, leadership forums, platforms for discussions. These initiatives effectively address the digital gender gap, boost women’s participation and engagement in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields, which has been of increasing importance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our latest Belgian project #GenerationW was a 6-month accelerator programme designed to give women the most needed tools and knowledge to kickstart their entrepreneurial journey during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. We create an atmosphere whereby the future  economy in Brussels can flourish, supporting women is an integral part to that. Generation W supports women in their career and personal development through mentorship programmes, technical skill development, tailored training and increasing access to networks. Our latest MENA-based project is the Womenpreneur Digital Hub. The very first virtual space designed for women to learn, connect and grow. We aim to ensure that every woman and girl in the MENA region can access the tools and develop the skills required to realise their fullest economic potential. The hub gives users free access to a diverse community of experts, mentors and peers to share tips and collaborate, as well as various opportunities. For example: job vacancies, scholarships, online courses, competitions, workshops, and so on.

Since our establishment in 2016, we have continuously  supported more than 13.000 women in 20 countries and have implemented more than 35 international projects. Ambitions to expand that base are constantly developing. More specifically, we are on the lookout for new partnerships with work based in the MENA region.
