SARA AZIZ

Sara Aziz founded the SAFE Foundation in 2012 to raise awareness about sexual abuse of children in Egypt. Having been herself victim of sexual abuse when she was young, it’s not until she reached 21 that she realized she wanted to do something about sexual violence in her country. She studied at the Denmark University and specialized herself in Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy of the sexually abused.

She did sexual abuse counseling since 2009 counseling kids, teenagers and women who have survived sexual abuse in both, individual & group therapy settings. Then, she decided to create her own NGO, SAFE. She raises awareness among the kids through workshop, activities, songs, games but also therapy sessions with the kids and the parents. The SAFE program has been providing sessions at schools and businesses, traveling to rural areas and slums.
