The Economic Empowerment of Women Through Legal Reform (Brussels, Belgium)

On 25 August 2017, MC Academy for Legal Studies (“MCA”) and Women Lawyers Group Middle East (“WLGME”) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in which both parties agreed, inter alia, to collaborate in promoting the empowerment and professional development of female lawyers hailing from or working in the MENA region. To mark this partnership, the first joint event will take place in Brussels, Belgium from 15-16 March 2018.

This first joint event will focus mainly on examining and debating the issues concerning the role of laws and the evolution of legal reforms in empowering women economically. In particular, the event aims to provide a genuinely interactive platform to discuss hindrances to the active economic participation of women in the legal sector in the MENA region. The desired outcome of the event is the provision of concrete legal and economic recommendations from the thought leaders and policy makers present in order to foster female participation in economies from a legal point of view.

Womenpreneur is supporting this initiative and partnering with MC Academy to make it a successful event.
